Introduction
In today’s technology driven society, there are many ways companies attempt to reach their target audience. This may include mobile apps and online advertisements among many others. However, one mode of customer interaction that may be neglected are physical kiosks. There are many benefits of physical kiosks for companies are self-service kiosks can empower customers by giving them control over their transactions and enhance accessibility if site locations are strategically chosen.
With this, my group and I were handed the task of envisioning and building an interactive, intelligent, and innovative kiosk to introduce a concept that’s unique for the marketplace, feasible, and desirable for society.

Interviews
We conducted 5 user interviews with potential stakeholders, ages 19-53:
5/5
4/5
relied solely on ride-booking platforms like Uber for traveling
expressed high familiarity with Uber and its features
4/5
5/5
expressed frustration with Ubers not arriving on time
loved traveling to new places and used Uber during travel
Our user research findings were quite ambiguous, but we realized that most use cases for Uber were during travel, in time-constrained situations. Therefore, we sought to extend Uber for travel enthusiasts who want to go out and explore the city but are not sure where to start, and want to get from point A to point B in a timely manner.
< User Personas >
Who is our product for?
With the insight we gained on our user research, we created two different user personas:
< Mission Statement >
How might we extend Uber as a kiosk to improve accessibility, find pick-up locations with ease, and increase relevant ride options for users?
< Design Flow >
The next step of our design process was to create a UX flow of our application so we can visualize the interactions that will be offered in our application.

Physical Prototyping
While working on the digital prototype on Figma, I took charge of designing on Inkscape to prototype our physical kiosk that will hold our digital prototype
< User Testing >
Now let’s test our product…
We conducted user testing with 4 individuals:
“It’s pretty intuitive, but the Activity page was a bit confusing to navigate, and there was an issue with scrolling there”
“Easy to use and navigate! Big fan of the simple user experience. I would definitely use this in the future! ”
All of our users expressed that our designs were intuitive and were successful in completing assigned tasks.

The Recap…
Working on Uber Sights was an incredible learning experience and I had the chance to learn lots from my teammates. The biggest thing I learned is something that is not design-related:
Group dynamic and role delegation MATTER!
This project, having both digital and physical prototyping components, required lots of role delegation and group work. I am blessed to have had a group that took their roles seriously and this led to a high-quality product!
